What is The Engagement Method?

It’s the creation of engaging content sent via social media and email within a carefully curated content calendar that serves to first nurture your customers to increase the success of appropriately-timed sales messages.

The Engagement Method provides both the revenue-generating strategy and the professional content creation that the labour-intensive task of social media and email management needs for your hotel to see return-on-investment across these channels.

What's Included In The Engagement Method?

The 55:6 Strategy

Summary

Your hotel will nurture for 55 days with email newsletters and social content, and will create a sales campaign pushed across both channels for 6 days.

Benefit

This two-month campaign approach provides structure to both channels and ensures your hotel isn't seen to be constantly pushing sales messages at your database and social following.

Facebook Ad Amplification

Summary

By uploading your email database to Facebook, the effectiveness of email sales campaigns increases significantly when you amplify the same message across ads on Facebook to the same recipients.

Benefit

It's all too easy to ignore an email, but when your prospective guests see the same great offer multiple times across different channels, you'll see your email revenue increase dramatically.

10c1

Regular Video Shoots

Summary

You'll see our video team at least three times per year to create fresh content of the product, the people and the location of your hotel. We cover it all from drone shots, staff interviews and steady-cam walk-throughs.

Benefit

All the content we produce is copyright-free so you'll have ownership of an extensive library of seasonal videography that can be used for years to come.

10c2

Facebook & Instagram Management

Summary

You'll typically see your scheduled posts 4-weeks in advance where you'll be able to view, request revisions and approve all within the scheduling dashboard.

Benefit

You'll have access to your hotel's social calendar at all times so you can view the month ahead at a glance and quickly review and approve the posts for the coming weeks.

Remarketing

Summary

Remarketing advertising is the process of displaying ads across the internet that seem to 'follow' the user around the internet having looked at something specific to purchase. Booking.com does it all the time (see below) to entice guests to complete their booking with them so we think it makes sense to do the same thing!

Benefit

Rarely will a guest book on the first visit to your website so it's important to gently remind them of your brand and the reasons to book direct. This form of advertising is simply the best money you can spend on digital - a £30 per month budget will likely deliver in excess of 50,000 impressions.

I’M READY TO TALK TO SOMEONE

FAQS

The first three months is often a very successful one for hotels adopting this different approach. If your business has a small email database or small social following, it’s likely it will take much longer to build it up to then start seeing meaningful results.

You’ll receive a monthly report detailing progress on the following metrics:

  • No. transactions from sales campaigns
  • Revenue from sales campaigns
  • Facebook engagement rate
  • Facebook new likes
  • Instagram engagement
  • Instagram new followers
  • Email open rate %
  • Email click rate %

This is followed by a quarterly evaluation meeting to put these results in context, discuss any insights that have emerged from the work, and a list of recommendations for the following three months.

Customer queries are always best handled by the in-house team as they often relate to very specific elements of the experience offered at the hotel so we encourage internal teams to cover this. Your account manager however will often prompt the internal team when queries come through so they can be responded to swiftly.

No. As with each of The Methods, you’ll not be tied into a minimum term contract and can cancel anytime by providing 60 days’ notice.

The main bulk of the work is done by us - we come up with the ideas, build the strategy, and execute it for you. But there's still work to do your end. You'll be encouraged to work with us in a partnership so we can deliver the most effective outcome.

Typically, we ask clients to jump on a status call every two weeks, spend time each month reviewing their report and meet with us every 90 days for an extended discussion to discuss what worked, what didn't and what the direction will be in the next three months.

Suffice to say there's a time commitment involved from your side, but 80% of the work will be done by us.

Since launching The Engagement Method in 2018, we've increased social media engagement and database sales for every hotel we've worked with so it's highly unlikely your hotel will be the exception to this rule.

That said, The Engagement Method is a framework and it can be applied in lots of different of ways to suit the style of your hotel and the type of guests you serve. The application of The Engagement Method needs to be finely tuned to achieve optimum results and we don't do this on our own - instead we work with you to share our ideas and agree the right approach together. We'll schedule in an evaluation meeting every three months to present the following:

  • Results (what we've achieved for you)
  • Insights (what we've learnt about your customers' behaviour)
  • Recommendations (what we should action next quarter)
